Eclipse of Words

When twilight speaks
to sleeping poets;
toes in the sand dreams
put on hold

for another night
when words
don’t spill so easily;

galaxies of stars
await the spotlight

when moon
is just a shadow
wrapped in a chorus
of blues

fading, frail,
fleeting

in light of us.
