Wordplay

Words simulate stars and fall
in shades of periwinkle,
upon unsuspecting lovers
under an overzealous moon.

These syllables
that attach themselves,
in sentences
to empathetic hearts,
glow and flutter
in sequence with the night

and when morning comes,
they fall into wildflowers,
and write themselves
into poetry

with synonyms of light.
