Love Letter #35: her heart

Wrap her tightly
in petals of protection
as flutters sweep
through chambers

a tender place;
an opening,
a vulnerability;

exposed to light,
to darkness
and all of the idiosyncrasies
that make her tick;

a love letter,
a handful of wildflowers,
a spontaneous moment

swirling, like her skirt
in April breezes.
