Look Up

Obstacles in my path
pushing, pushing,
but my feet are planted,
pointed forward;

chasing the light.

An Unsettling

In uncertain times,
you are my tower.
You take the tremble
from my hands;
turn an unsettling
into tranquil rivers.

Let It Rain

Before you,
I never felt so close to the sky;
never realized muse was a song
whispered in my ear, before birth;
words, a gift to give you glory.
Now, nestled on rooftops,
I sing your praises
to anyone who will listen
hoping for showers of love
to pour more of you
into these open arms.

This Place of Solace

Though years of valleys;
paths trodden
by others before me,
there was always this light
in the distance

dimmed by circumstance,
in my blind-eyed wandering.

Lost, I searched aimlessly
to fill a void, to mend hearts
broken through adversity,
running through fields
hoping to flower; to flourish
without being fed,

until I surrendered,
let light fill every crevice
growing brighter
the closer you came

finding solace in your grace,
for when I am weakest,
I am strong.

Beacon

There is peace in surrender,
joy in the climb,
love in the balance
looking on,
applauding your journey;
a thousand reasons
each blooming in dandelions,
sprinkled in sun
blushing your cheeks.

Beyond oceans deep,
there’s a beacon;
a rock to lie your burdens down
and rest in the one constant
that shines through obscurity;
a lamp to your feet
in all of this uncertainty.
